Blog: Featured finalist - Army Basing Programme (Rollalong Ltd)

01 June 2018

Offsite

Project location: Aldershot and Salisbury Plan

Project value: £1m

Type of client: Defence/Government

With plans for British Troops to return from Germany in 2019 under the Army Basing Programme (ABP), the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is providing new single living accommodation for around 4,000 service personnel. The re-hosing of troops is being carried out by Aspire Defence Ltd. With vast amounts of single living accommodation required in such a small timeframe, off-site manufacture was identified as the most effective. Rollalong Ltd were able to manufacture and install the first residential building in just 4 months and remain in budget, timeframe and to a high standard.

Throughout 2016/17, Rollalong manufactured 900 modules and installed 700 which have created 23 accommodation buildings with over 900 bedrooms over 2 locations. Rollalong have worked together to create efficient designs of accommodation that meet the design, style, budget and functionality. At a resent handover, the DIO (Defence Infrastructure Organisation) Requirements Manager noted that Rollalong and Aspire teams appear to be seamless and that mutual respect is embedded in the team.

The winners of the new Offsite category will be announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner on the 28th of June 2018 at the Royal Lancaster London. For more information and to book click here.
