Astins shows their commitment to the workforce through the Astins Institute with a dedicated training team who take an active role in the provision of training for employees, subcontractors, new entrants such as school leavers and local residents. They ensure that the development strategy in place addresses the needs of site operatives, management and support teams at head office, covering trainees, apprenticeships, formal qualifications, technical qualifications and behavioural skills. This means ensuring that high quality workshops are run at the Astins Institute and on-site to embed these skills into the workforce.
The Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHEST) Team and the HR & Training Team collaborate to plan, develop and implement site-specific training to the operations workforce. Currently Astins are going through the process to accredit training through the CITBs new ATO system and will be completing this first application for their Site Supervisor Modular Training Programme.
The winner of the People Development category will be announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner on the 28th of June at the Royal Lancaster London. For more information about the event or to book tickets click here.
