The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ Preparatory School - nominated by Cube Design

This project is an example of deft collaborative working, with the client setting the standards at an early stage. The client was very careful with the selection of the design team and project manager, and ensured that the design team were aware of the very stringent conditions required for the site. This followed on during the contractor selection process.

The selection process was discussed and agreed with the client. Very careful relationships were built between the design team, contractor and client. Regular meetings, discourse and open discussion took place with the client throughout the project. The client played an active part in the development and achievement of this project, with a willingness to compromise and agree changes to ensure the best solutions. The client set down a very stringent brief from the outset. This was key to the delivery of the project.

The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School's Estate Team had a very careful and clear definition of their objectives with regards to ICT, Furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and delivery; and the whole team worked closely together to achieve the best possible result.

  • A very informed client with a very exacting brief. The brief was second to none and directed the design team.
  • The selection process and monitoring of consultants and contractors achieved the best results for collaborative working.
  • The knowledge base of the Estates Team - they were cooperative throughout the entire process and had very clear requirements for the delivery of the project by the design team and contractor. This has produced a very exciting and interesting project.
