Weybridge Group

People Development SECBE Award 2021 Winner

Weybridge Group believes that people make the business and everybody should have the equal opportunity to develop and progress. They created solutions that align with their people strategy and help their people grow. Their approach helps them deliver on their customer promises by giving their people the right skills, knowledge and behaviours.

The CWS and CWM program supports all staff - from a new starter to the MD and its suppliers/customers - to take this journey together. They are an SME with 45 employees and in 2020 launched a new development platform for all staff called Certified Waste Specialised (CWS) and Certified Waste Manager (CWM). A high percentage of the modules are classroom-based, therefore, due to Covid19 restrictions, some training has been moved to virtual sessions.

The Certified Waste Specialist (CWS) program focuses on those characteristics that make the Weybridge Group the ‘Specialists in waste and transportation within the construction industry’. CWS is designed to engage every member of the Weybridge Group and customers/suppliers, bringing to life a commitment to invest in their employees. Customers and colleagues will benefit from the inspiration, know-how, and passion that sets Weybridge Group apart from the competition.

The CWS training platform is a modular program that covers culture, knowledge, leadership training and engagement activities. It provides the specialised knowledge that their people need to do their job competently, confidently and safely.

The Certified Waste Manager Program and the Supervisory Excellence Academy is creating a team of Weybridge Group Managers and Supervisors who are inspired and capable of delivering 21st Century leadership and driving the highest levels of performance and results across the business.

The CWS Passport is integral to CWS. The passport is an employee's record of their journey through CWS, as they gather stamps from courses completed and special recognition or events they have attended.
